Human Trafficking and The Male Victim
Men are assumed to be perpetrators, not victims—leading to shame, self-denial, and reluctance to seek assistance. Men and boys comprise a larger portion of all human trafficking survivors but we don't see the number of services and support to match. This year join us as we hear from two mothers with sons that had the lived experience of human trafficking and suffered violent acts. The event will be September 20th at the UWM Continuing Education Center on Wisconsin Avenue. Our speakers are Decembre Pierce (Georgia) and Lisa McCormick (Wisconsin). The dynamic stories of these two ladies will share information you really don't want to miss. September 20, 2025 at 9am we will be at the UWM Continuing Education Center on Wisconsin Avenue - go to our website for details. Registration Opens July 1st - space is limited CEU's have been applied for |
Ms. Pierce endured an unimaginable tragedy with the loss of her only biological son, Parrish Pierce Jr., whose life was taken in a violent incident, betrayed by a close friend, after a history of resilience through trauma, including childhood kidnapping and trafficking. This profound loss further strengthened her resolve to advocate against kidnapping, trafficking, and gang violence and to raise awareness for young males impacted by trauma. She partnered with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, as well as other organizations, to share both her and her son's story and to help educate families on coping and healing from such devastating events. ![]() |
Lisa McCormick’s son, Jeffrey, was trafficked before he died of a drug overdose over 3 years ago at the age of 17. “What we can go out and do is to be able to go out and help people understand what the signs are and the signals that are out there. And then when we recognize them we can do something about it and try to get help for those that need it,” said McCormick. ![]() |
We need your help to keep this event free for anyone that would like to attend. Join us for The Epidemic and The Game fundraiser at EL Tenampa Restaurant on Friday Sept 5th from 10am to close. We are also looking for sponsors. Contact Dr Lassiter at 414-231-3058 or email us at crccontactus@convergenceresource.org ![]() |
